Residents of Nansu Village, Nkoma Parish,Namanyonyi Sub county in Mbale District are crying out to the responsible authorities to rush and help fix the road network in the area.
In particular residents are angry about the delayed works on Hajji Ali Makuduyi-Mabuya Road. The said local government road covers three villages of Nansu, Nankobe and Nabugoye .B. in 2 Parishes; Nkoma and Nabweya respectively.
Led by Muhammad Nsereko, a resident, they claim that there is nothing done by the district authorities ever since murram was delivered to the area with intention of working on it.
Step Radio reporter who visited the area could see murram placed by the roadside, however, the irate residents claim that the road maintaince material was only delivered a year ago. Speaking to Step Radio, the L.C1 Chairman of Nansu village, Sulait Wanyufu Muyeye, admitted receiving several cases from his residents concerning the poor state of this road and its extension in nearby land. Now, responding to the outcry of the residents in an interview on phone the LC 3 Chairperson Namanyonyi Sub County, JJ Keki, said the delay was caused by the technical breakdown of the district road machines.
